Live performed solo piano piece - happy and light, optimistic and playful. Waiting for a friend on the Platform of Kings Cross Station in London just before Xmas, it was amazing watching all the people gathering and meeting each other as friends and family were reunited for the festivities. Lots of people were giving each other "Hugs" and the general excitement was captivating. Occasionally watching the body language of reunited friends you could see serious / sad interludes in the flowing conversations which is reflected in the minor section. [Tempo: Medium / 97 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - soft, romantic, emotional and reflective. Bittersweet, heartfelt. [Tempo: Slow]

Live performed solo piano piece - very transparent, impressionistic, almost ambient in structure. Few, heartfelt notes. A time for reflection and relaxation. [Tempo: Slow / 37 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - quiet and understated, loving and tender with caressing notes like goodnight kisses. [Tempo: Slow]

Live performed solo piano piece - hopeful and optimistic, with tender and delicate notes like playful expectation. A growing excitement about new possibilities, new hopes. [Tempo: Medium / 75 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - heartfelt and emotional with melancholic melodies. As the name suggests, this piece was written during the many periods when I tried to get my life in focus and deciding on a direction -- it offers a great opportunity to unwind and just 'contemplate'. [Tempo: Slow / 133 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - tender, impressionistic, melodic and romantic. [Tempo: Medium / 66 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - beautiful with a slight melancholy. This is a play on words -- imagine the English countryside in its full beauty at the peak of the summer -- everything is green, the fields, the hedges, the trees -- but imagine all this splendour when there is something missing in your life - love - and you cant help but feel "blue" about things. This piece depicts the beauty of the countryside, and yet the touch of sadness is never far away. [Tempo: Medium / 100 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - nostalgic and reflective, but with a strong sense of hope and new opportunities. [Tempo: Medium / 97 BPM]

Live performed solo piano piece - melancholic and with a subtle sense of tragedy, with a slight Eastern European or even Russian feel. [Tempo: Slow, Medium]

In life, polar opposites of emotions can happen in a very short space of time. The summer of 2013 was a very significant time for me. Having fallen in love, then losing that love coupled with the happy occasion of my son moving on with his life to marriage all resulted in a hugely emotional and influential period of life. “That Summer” captures all these changes and is a track that everyone who listens to it can relate to in one way or another. Quite often I see a tear appearing in the listener’s eyes when I play That Summer. (This is a 100% live recording done in one take on an acoustic piano). [Tempo: Medium]
