An unusual and highly atmospheric blend of Celtic/Irish folk influences with Indian, Oriental and Asian elements. Tabla drums and sitars combine with electric guitars, Indian raga flutes and Celtic inspired melodies. It's a little eclectic, dreamy and ethereal, with a sense of far-away places, mythology, travel, adventure and new discoveries. [Tempo: Medium / 88 BPM]

A mixture of the East (India) and the West (USA) from Indian composer-guitarist Arjun Sen. Smooth and jazzy drums combine with acoustic bass to provide a traditional U.S. jazz backing but this is mixed withsitars and exotic Indian flavours to create a wonderfully inspiring and groovy feelgood smooth jazz track with an Indian feel. Melodic, refreshing, soothing and invigorating all at the same time. [Tempo: Medium / 74 BPM]

Traditional wedding music fom The Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh in India. The instruments used are the Pipdi - a reed blowing instrument some what similar to the Shenai used in other regions of India (Played by Mangal Ram from Bir Village), and the Nagara Drums - similar to the nagras in the plains (these are very old pieces) they are made of metal with skin stretched on the playing surface. The skin is tightened with straps that weave into the edge of the skin and meet at the centre bottom of the drums. Two drums are placed opposite each other and the drummer plays them with a cross stick action. The drummer here is Jondu Ram (father of Mangal Ram.) Please note: This is a genuinely live, on-the-spot recording, and as such, there may be slight flaws in the performance and recording. [Tempo: Slow, Medium / 114 BPM]

A beautiful, traditional Indian love song arranged with a mixture of Indian ethnic instruments and more modern/western elements. Sung by the highly renowned Indian thumri singer Vidya Rao who has been kind enough to work with us on this track. Thumri is a form of Indian singing which originated in the temples where the courtesans of the temples used to sing about lost love. The lyrics in this song can be summarized as a woman singing to a dear friend or lover in a far-away land, singing for him to return to where he belongs. Arranged with tabla, Indian strings and soft pads. There is also an alternative version without the vocals, and yet another version with only the vocals and soft pads, in a more "ambient" setting. Haunting and beautiful. [Tempo: Medium / 87 BPM]

An exotic, haunting Indian vocal track sung for us by highly renowned Indian female singer Vidya Rao, whom we feel privileged to have worked with on this track. Her sorrowful singing/chanting in the alaap is as atmospheric as it is emotional, and is accompanied by a clean jazz guitar, joined by jazzy drums and bass at around 1 min 45 secs. Alaap literally means introduction and it is traditionally used by an Indian singer who goes through many permutations in the notes of a raag finally resting on the tonic and then nods at the tabla player to set the rhythm. A smooth blend of the traditional and the modern, of the East and the West. Great for use in travel and adventure, chill-out and exotic moods. [Tempo: Slow / 102 BPM]

[Tempo: Very slow / 72 BPM]

This track is hard to categorize, as it combines elements of Ambient, Jazz, Lounge and Chill-out. An exotic fusion of styles and influences, this track has a sense of something busy, bustling, stirring. People on the move, perhaps timelapse, bustling cities etc. [Tempo: Medium / 99 BPM]

This smooth and soft world-fusion track uses the traditional Indian instrument Sarangi, which is a bit like a violin (although it predates the violin in existence). The traditional role of this instrument is to play in unison with the vocalist, but here the Saranghi has come into its own right, mixed with a downtempo electronica beat, tabla, tamborines and soft pads. A silky smooth, exotic and beautiful world ethnic track, highly suitable for travel, journeys, holidays and vacations in exotic and far-away places. Slightly wistful or sorrowful, but also comforting and hopeful. [Tempo: Slow / 87 BPM]
