About the Artist
John Starcluster John Starcluster

John Francis Jorgensen, aka John Starcluster, is a music producer and performing artist. His music has been placed all over the American TV/Cable universe for the last 5 years: The Young and The Restless, Ellen, Tyra Banks, American Pickers, Real Housewives of Miami, E News Daily, America’s Next Top Model, WWE Monday Night Raw, Toddlers in Tiaras, and the list goes on.

Born and raised in California, John received a traditional musical education at Santa Barbara City College with a focus on jazz improv. Then he moved to Sweden and had a chance to be a part of the European electronic music scene from the late 1990’s onward. Managing his own dance-oriented band for 10 years, he then moved on to Roots Reggae and Dancehall, playing with a group of Barbadians. During this time John also began composing for American TV and also studied at Stockholm University, receiving Master degrees in Linguistics and Social Anthropology.
Subsequently, John moved back to the states and began producing music full time. He is a musical omnivore, at home listening and producing modern music styles: singer-songwriter “indie” tracks, dirty English powerpop, ambient, electro, house, (French) nu disco, dubstep, etc – and also more “classical” music like period pieces from 19th Century romantic piano pieces, turn of the century brass dominated marches, early to modern jazz, 50s-90s pop-rock. Even world music: Old school ska to modern reggae, traditional Chinese, Afrobeat, Tango, Bossa Nova, Celtic, Berber music, etc. He produces (plays, composes, sings, tracks, and mixes) at his home studio, consisting of many types guitars, drums, percussion, horns, recorders, amid professional recording gear. He has been using the recording software, Logic ever since the late-90s.

His goal is to keep producing music, networking, getting better and moving further into film music composition/production. Also, he wants to keep performing live music/touring with a focus on group improvisation.
