John Philip Sousa was born in 1854 in Washington DC, to Portugese and
German parents. Throughout his composing carreer, he became known as "The
March King" as he composed the official march for the U.S. Marine Corps
(the Semper Fidelis, which holds that position today -- in addition to being
probably the most played march in history). In this regard we have the pleasure
of presenting these royalty free marching band recordings. |
