 Dick De Benedictis:
began his Broadway career as a dance-music arranger for such musicals as "Do I Hear A Waltz?", "Fade Out - Fade In", "Bajour" and the revivals of "Annie Get Your Gun" and "Showboat".
In the field of films, he created the dance music for "The Night They Raided Minsky's". He was Special Consultant on "Funny Lady" and wrote the score for William Holden's last film, "The Earthling".
In his work as a composer for television, Dick composed the themes and underscore for the long running Fred Silverman and Dean Hargrove/Viacom Productions series "Diagnosis Murder", "Matlock", "Father Dowling" and "Jake and The Fatman". He scored all 38 installments of the "Perry Mason" two-hour movies and continues to score all "Columbo" Movies of the Week. A sampling of his vast television credits includes "Matlock", "Murder She Wrote", "Quincy", "Hawaii Five-O" "Rockford Files" and many MTM comedies.
Dick DeBenedictis has earned ten Emmy nominations for his work on "Diagnosis Murder", "Matlock", "Perry Mason", "Zeigfeld; The Man and His Women", "Dear Detective" and "Police Story".
In addition to his film and television credits, Dick has acted as music director and arranger for such stars as Chita Rivera, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minelli, Bernadette Peters, Lily Tomlin, Bing Crosby Carol Burnett and many more. He recently completed work on "Disney On Ice", the worldwide traveling ice show.
Thomas Stobierski:
Although Tom indentifies himself as classical-based composer, his musical background differs a bit from common educational path. He grew up in southern Poland and graduated in 1999 from Silesian Technical University in Gliwice with a degree in computer engineering. It was quite a natural consequence of his youthful, techno-cratic deviation. Nowadays, that's sure - he's not a technocrat at all. Rather than a life passion, he considers the computer science as a source of his keep. He works as a programmer for one of the Polish leading interactive agencies where he finds his technical knownledge and sense of art useful.
With regards to music, he started taking piano lessons at the age of 8. He is also saxophone player, but most of the time he focuses on composition. A few years ago he graduated from Katowice Music Academy (composition & arrangement) too. His experience in this domain ranges in various musical styles from electronic-beat to strictly classical music and sacral art. Professionaly Tom scored dozens of multimedia presentations, websites and games.
As a talented and the same time "hi-tech oriented" composer he was asked to score a few pieces in mood of some dark orchestrations scored by Dick De Benedictis. The goal was to blend real orchestra licks/passages/colors (De Benedictis) and sampled orchestrations (Stobierski) together with up to date grooves of electronic flavour.List all tracks by this composer |
